I am looking forward to getting my book today! I know already from reading the extra chapters that it will be a blessing and I will be recommending it to others. I’ve even contemplated doing my first Amazon review ever! Thank you and Sarah for your work and sharing your stories and the truths we can know and rest in from the Word of God!

Hi Kim! Enjoy getting your book (and thank you for supporting us). We’d love to hear what you’re learning about Jesus as you read, and how you’re applying those truths to your daily life. Grace to you!

I just found your blog after reading your article on TGC website, “Don’t Waste Your Suffering” — I, too, have been “gifted” with a ministry of chronic pain and illness that was not expected. However, to paraphrase Paul’s words to young Timothy, “. . .I am suffering, bound with chains . . .but the Word of God is not bound! Therefore, I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory . .”(2 Timothy 2). God has not “benched” me — but His power, His grace, is much more on display than when I was healthy . ..
    Congratulations on your book!

Hi Kristen! I’ve been greatly encouraged by the articles you’ve written for TGC and can’t wait to read your book. Thankful for you and Sarah, your God-given trials, and the rich encouragement you’re able to bring to me and others in such a beautiful way. Congratulations on your launch day, and praying your book can lead the masses to fully trust in and depend on Christ through it all!

  5. Alicen says:

I have many pre-Christian friends going through great suffering right now. My hope is to read the book myself, then gift a copy to each of them. I am praying that our discussions about the book will point them to the Savior! I’ve already read the first few chapters and it is wonderful! Congratulations!

    • kleighwetherell says:

Hi Alicen! Wow, thank you for thinking of sharing the book with your friends. We’ve been praying that same thing, especially that unbelievers would see Christ as glorious. Thanks for reading!

  6. Connie Koenig says:

I cannot wait to get mine in the mail. It’s almost 8 years since my stem cell transplant and although I don’t have chronic pain, my life and dreams have changed from what I can do physically. So excited for you two today. May your words bring healing to all who read it. Covered in prayer ❤

  7. sheri9466 says:

I’m excited for you on the launch of this book! Life completely changed for me back in 2012. After my youngest daughters 3 month marriage ended, my youngest son turned to homosexuality, then 3 surgeries and a diagnosis of lupus, sjogrens, and gastroparesis …my world was shaken! God walked with me, patiently, through this valley, and new hope has, sprung up!

  8. Jennie Evensen says:

I have been so encouraged by this beautiful book! I love what Beverly (above) said, “God has not benched me”… whatever our situation, whether it is great physical pain or deep heart sadness and grief, our God is our sustainer! Thank you for your obedience in hearing God’s calling to write this book, and completely giving the glory to God in your weakness. Love both you and Sarah from the bottom of my heart, and I am praying for God’s will to be done and for others to be led to Christ through this truth!

Hi Kristen! I am so excited to read your book. I am a Christian living with chronic illnesses and what I have read of your writings so far has really encouraged me! Would you please enter me in the giveaway? Thank you for living for Jesus well in the midst of suffering!

I have been hearing a lot about this book in recent days! I am looking forward to hopefully reading it soon! I read your blog post on The Gospel Coalition today and was very encouraged. Thank you!

I am looking forward to the release of your book! There are so many women in this broken world who need the hope that only are Savior can give. Thank you for sharing!

I received my book yesterday and could not believe you both have/had Lyme. I was literally scouring Amazon for the next biblically-sound encouragement on pain and suffering and feel like there aren’t a ton of options that are relevant to Lyme or chronic illness that includes deep physical pain. I have a few staples that I re-read over and over: Grace Grows Best in Winter, As Silver Refined, A Path Through Suffering, etc. I’m only 4 chapters in but am so thankful to have another resource to share with so many friends going through Lyme (and of course, to be personally encouraged by!). Thank you for this book!!

  13. books4everandme says:

I came across your article on TGC as well and am so encouraged by your seeing suffering as an opportunity for ministry. My closest friends have Lyme Disease and it has been a daily struggle. I know they and others who hurt emotionally or in other ways need encouragement and reminders to look to Christ when we feel exhausted by the trials and suffering. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us in this book. Please enter me into your drawing!

  14. Christine O. says:

Hello, Kristen! I am so thankful to you and Sarah for bravely sharing your experiences with suffering to uplift others. I, too, am working to understand the profound, divine insights found in pain and suffering after an unpleasant diagnosis. I read day 1 of your “Hope When it Hurts” daily devotional on The Bible App and your message deeply ministered to me. I am looking forward to reading your book and continuing this journey of pressing into God. Congratulations on your book launch!

  15. Rebecca Kay says:

Oh, how exciting! I’d love to have this book. If I do I’m hoping I can share some truths from it not only with myself, but with friends and family members who have turned bitter against God for their “suffering”. Thank you for giving this opportunity for a few to have this book! 🙂

  16. Lisa says:

I do not personally know the struggle of seeking to be faithful to the Lord and trusting Him in the midst of chronic physical pain, but I have dear ones in my life who do and I would love to understand more and learn how to come alongside of them.

  17. mongollisa says:

I do not personally struggle with how to be faithful to the Lord in the midst of chronic physical pain but I have dear friends who do, and I would love to learn how to better come alongside them….to bear their burden and to encourage….thank you for writing your story, that God would be glorified and others helped.

  18. Heather Hurth says:
